Applicants must come from a developing country (see DAAD list of eligible countries, which includes The Gambia).

Hold a Bachelor's degree (usually 4 years) in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, natural sciences, economics).

Have at least two years of professional experience after the Bachelor's degree.

Demonstrate excellent academic performance.

English language proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).

Age limit usually 36 years for Master's applicants.

The Master's Programme in Renewable Energy Systems and Environmental Management (REM) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences is part of the DAAD's 'Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS)' programme. It aims to qualify experts for the planning, implementation, and operation of renewable energy systems and environmental management in developing countries. The DAAD EPOS scholarships are highly competitive and target professionals from developing countries.

Fully funded by DAAD, covering:Monthly stipend to cover living expenses.

Payments towards tuition fees (where applicable).

Travel allowance.

Health, accident, and personal liability insurance.

Study and research allowance.

Preparatory German language course (optional).
