Applicants must come from a developing country (see DAC List of ODA Recipients). Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., agricultural sciences, economics, business administration). At least two years of professional experience. Academic degree should not be older than six years. English language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS).

The DAAD EPOS (Development-Related Postgraduate Courses) program offers fully funded scholarships for highly qualified graduates from developing countries to pursue Master's or PhD degrees in Germany. This specific program focuses on Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim, aiming to equip students with the knowledge and skills for sustainable agricultural development.

Monthly stipend of 934 Euros for Master's students, travel allowance, health insurance, study and research subsidy, and in some cases, rent subsidies and family allowances. Tuition fees are generally waived for DAAD scholarship holders at public German universities.
