Details

The Rave Scholarship supports young curators, restorers, museum technicians, and cultural managers from emerging and developing countries. It allows them to realize a project at a museum or non-commercial gallery in Germany for a period of three to six months. The scholarship is awarded by the Alexander Rave Foundation in cooperation with ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen). Applicants must find their own host institution in Germany and submit a project plan. The scholarship aims to promote practical further training and international networking in the museum sector.

Eligibility Criteria

Be a citizen of an emerging or developing country (according to the OECD/DAC list)
Currently working in a museum or non-commercial gallery in your home country
Be under 40 years old
Have a good command of German or English
Have completed professional training or university studies
Have arranged a guest stay at a museum or non-commercial gallery in Germany
Not have stayed in Germany for a longer period of time within the last three years

Financial Benefits

Monthly scholarship of 1,300 euros
Travel expenses (one-off payment for travel to Germany and back)
