The International University of Japan Scholarship is a fully funded package, covering the tuition fees, accommodation, admission costs, and an annual stipend of $11,500 to cater for living expenses.

International University of Japan (IUJ) Scholarship Details:

International University of Japan scholarship 2026 is officially opened to successful Master’s and PhD applicants.

IUJ is pleased to offer our successful applicants a variety of scholarship support to attend our degree programs. Matches are made on a competitive basis, at the time of Admissions, and based on the objectives of our various partner organizations, companies and foundations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be new to IUJ, enrolling as an international student
  • Be active participants in support of the local community and gain a good understanding of Japanese society
  • Develop leadership skills and then contribute to the international society in a leadership role upon graduation.
  • Priority for this scholarship is given to those with excellent academic performance and in financial need.

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

Financial Benefits

The scholarships are different based on the eligibility of the applicants and the availability of the award. Available awards include;

1. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Scholarship

  • Specifically designed for African students
  • Covers full tuition and admission fees
  • Monthly stipend of approximately ¥150,000

2. Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)

  • Full tuition coverage
  • Monthly stipend
  • Airfare support
  • Accommodation and living allowances

3. Nakayama Scholarship Series

  • Merit-based scholarships covering 30% to 100% tuition
  • Premium category includes stipend support

4. MEXT (Japanese Government Scholarship)

  • Fully funded government scholarship
  • Covers tuition, living allowance, and airfare
