This program offers individual scholarships to participants from developing countries so they may study development-related postgraduate courses at selected universities in Germany. Deadlines vary depending on the chosen course, but many are between August and October for the following academic year. The provided deadline is a general estimate.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree (usually a four-year course) in an appropriate subject.
- Candidates must have at least two years' professional experience after the first degree.
- Candidates can prove their motivation is development-related and be expected to take on social responsibility and initiate and support processes of change in their personal and professional environment after their training/scholarship.
- Applicants from developing countries (including The Gambia) are eligible.
Financial Benefits
The scholarship includes:
- Monthly payments of 934 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates.
- Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover.
- Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding.
