The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) are awarded to high-calibre students from non-EU/EEA countries to study at a higher education institution in Ireland for a period of one year. The scheme is managed by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) on behalf of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. Successful candidates will become GOI-IES Scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/United Kingdom.
•Must have received an offer of a place for a full-time study programme from an eligible Irish higher education institution.
•The offer must be for: the final year of an undergraduate programme, one year of a taught master’s degree programme, or one year of a research programme (i.e., one year of a 2-year research masters or a 3-4 year PhD programme).
•Must demonstrate a record of outstanding academic achievement.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Participation in extra-curricular activities (e.g., humanitarian work, politics, arts, sports).
Financial Benefits
•A stipend of €10,000 for one year of study.
•A full waiver of all tuition and other registration costs at the higher education institution.
