The University of Birmingham, in partnership with the Al-Mahdi Institute (AMI), offers the Islam Scholarship to support students undertaking the MA in Islamic Studies. This scholarship is designed to encourage the study of Islam in a non-confessional setting and is open to students from all backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria
•Must be classified as an International or Home student for fee purposes
•Must have applied for and received an offer of admission for the MA Islamic Studies programme at the University of Birmingham
•Must hold a First Class or Upper Second Class Honours degree (or international equivalent)
•Must demonstrate academic excellence and potential
•Must submit a personal statement detailing academic interests and financial need
Financial Benefits
•Full coverage of tuition fees (for both Home and International students)
•A substantial annual living stipend (maintenance grant) of approximately £15,000 to £16,000
•Access to academic and community resources at the Al-Mahdi Institute
